Marvel Canceled Glover’s Deadpool Series

As a surprise to absolutely no one, Fx’s Boss John Landgraf says Marvel was the one to pull the plug on Donald Glover’s controversial Deadpool Animated Series.

In a speaking engagement at the elevision Critics Association (TCA) summer press tour on Saturday Landgraf, the CEO of FX, put the blame squarely on Marvel:

“They [Marvel] didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done the show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them, as did Donald and Stephen.”

And considering just how far Glover went with the humor in his version of ofthe Deadpool series, we are not surprised that Marvel pulled the plug.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney these days, and The Mouse is only willing to be so “edgy.” There are no worries however, Glover has been not wanting for work with his Atlanta TV series, star tuenin Solo and contiuning his reign as Childish Gambino. In other words: Donal Glover will be just fine.
